Cheerios Social

General Mills / Cheerios / 2015–16

June 2015–May 2016, I was hired on as contracted Creative to plan, strategize, and execute content for Cheerios' social channels.

Over the course of a year, I took their socials from just a few hundred followers, the feeds mostly of out of context pictures around the office— to a cohesive and imaginative representation of childlike play, gaining thousands of followers within just a few months of creating.

From the start, General Mills provided little direction so I made it happen through my own direction and problem solving. Cheerios as a brand is ubiquitous in our culture and a staple in family households because they're an easy, instant kid pleaser. But why are kids, the biggest little bundles of imagination, so tied to something so plain and simple?

I wanted to explore Cheerios as a canvas for imagination, bringing what makes kids so special to the Cheerios Instagram and Facebook feeds through playful imagination and whimsy, and maybe even encourage and inspire adults to play like a kid again.
